Our hiking tours are designed for travelers who want a deeper, more meaningful connection to the natural landscapes of the Redwood Coast. Drawing on a lifetime of local experience, we take you to the kinds of places you won’t find through a Google search or listed on a blog.

We practice interpretive guiding, a style that goes far beyond reciting facts. We don’t use a script and our focus is on storytelling, observation, and conversation. You’ll learn by engaging with what you’re seeing in real time. We highlight relationships, behaviors, and natural processes, helping you understand why the landscape looks and functions the way it does. Interpretation turns a hike into an experience: interactive, hands-on, and rooted in curiosity.

This isn’t a tour to sit back and tune out; it’s a chance to connect, ask questions, and be part of the moment.

We specialize in small private groups and always move at your pace. Our standard and seasonal offerings are well reviewed and very popular, but if it is not exactly what you are looking for we would love to create a custom program for you. Whether you’re looking for a full-day trek, a shorter 1–2 hour nature walk, or a hike focused on specific topics (eg. Wildlife, Native Edible and Medicinal Plant, Birds etc.) we tailor each outing to your comfort and interests.

We welcome all ability levels on most of our hikes, but it’s important to note that these are hiking tours. We believe that the best way we know how to connect you to the redwood coast is by walking through it, feeling it, listening to it, and being immersed in it. For that reason, we do not offer driving-only tours. If you are interested in a driving tour we will happily recommend you to one of our local partners.
