Coastal Exploration

Explore the Trinidad coast with a special focus on the intertidal zone. The Pacific Northwest hosts extraordinary tidepool communities found nowhere else, each adapted to the rhythm of the tides. We’ll pause at scenic headlands for sweeping views, note fascinating coastal geology, and keep an eye out for marine mammals and seabirds. Along the way, your naturalist will highlight uncommon native plants and how these organisms thrive in this salty, wind-shaped environment.

This portion of the experience is highly interactive and unhurried, with time for close observation, photography, and questions. It’s ideal for families, birders, photographers, and anyone looking to deepen their connection with Humboldt’s wild shoreline.

Start time for this program changes daily with tides and conditions, after booking we will reach out to you and coordinate the specific time and meeting point.
