Farmer’s Market Experience
Discover the heart of Humboldt County’s local food movement at the Arcata Farmer’s Market, one of California’s oldest and most beloved farmer’s markets. Held every Saturday on the lively Arcata Plaza, this tour immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of the Redwood Coast.
Your local guide/ chef will start your tour with local coffee and a pastry of your choosing. They will then introduce you to farmers, herbalists, bakers, and craftspeople while helping you pick out seasonal produce, artisan cheeses, and other specialty items. Along the way, you’ll hear stories about regenerative agriculture, local sustainability efforts, and the cultural history of the area. Depending on which option you chose there will be 4-6 tasting opportunities to sample the local food.
Experience Options

After your tour, enjoy a lunch prepared by your chef back at your home. The meal will include local grassfed beef sliders, a seasonal salad and a fruit galette. The chef will prepare and clean up after your lunch.
Begins: 9AM
Duration: 2 hours at the Market and about 2 hours for lunch preparation and clean up.

After the farmer’s market, return to your home and learn how to make pizza on the grill, using the toppings you picked out!
Follow along as you shape the dough, make the sauce, and bake your pizza on the grill!

Experience Saturday morning like a local! This Arcata Farmer’s Market Experience starts with local coffee and fresh pastries. Walk around the market with your host, as they highlight what makes the Redwood Coast so exceptional for local agriculture. Sample products from booths, and enjoy live music.
